Hello! My name is Kelly. I manage Heroic Historical Certificates. I'm a Canadian Graphic Designer with over 15 years of experience. I also come from a family with three generations of proud Firefighting history.

The idea of Heroic Historical does not originate with me. It originates from my father, a retired Fire Chief. When he was a Fire Chief in 2010, my dad had the idea of creating a custom certificate that would celebrate each firefighter who achieved a new rank or retirement. Inspired by the turn-of-the-century artwork that hung in the meeting room of the Central Fire Hall, he asked me to take on the challenge. This is when the first certificate was born.

The end result was an antiqued certificate that looked as if it were printed during the early 1900's. Using an image from the department archives, the certificate is imbued with a sense of fellowship, camaraderie and proud tradition sewn through decades of hard work and heroism.

 

The tradition of the antiqued certificate still runs strong today in his department. Every promoted and retiring member of that fire service is still presented with a copy to this day. Dad and I could not be prouder :)
